Role models for your little princess are everywhere she looks. Which is why it only makes sense to give her a bedroom that makes her feel like fairy tale royalty.

At the Heart of It All: The Bed

At the core of every princess's private chambers is her bed. A bed for a little princess might be (or look like) be a four poster bed, maybe a canopy bed, maybe both. Custom theme beds can be designed to look like anything you wish, and it is nowhere more apparent than in a princess themed bedroom.

Long flowing fabrics, plush pillows, satiny bedding, frilly lace borders - all of these help complete the image of bed fit for a princess. But with a custom theme bed, the fantasy doesn't stop there. For that bed can be placed behind a drawbridge inside a magnificent flower and vine covered castle or it can be placed inside a splendid horse-drawn carriage (pumpkin shaped or otherwise).

Whether you select a princess castle bed, a horse-drawn carriage bed, or a custom theme bed of some other design, the fact remains that your little girl will be elated to bed down at night and will wake up each morning feeling like the queen-in-waiting that she is.

Colors for a Princess Themed Bedroom: Pretty in Pink

Though purple and gold are considered royal colors, they would be better used as accents in a room dominated by the color that dominates most little princess's fantasies - pink. A pink castle bed, for example, will make any little princess's eyes sparkle. Pink bedding, pink window coverings, pink lighting fixtures, pink carpeting, and pink supplementary furniture all only complement and complete the picture.

Then consider using white highlights throughout the room to neutralize the impact of all that pink.

Murals Make it Easy

Both on the walls of the bedroom as well as on the walls of the custom theme bed, painted murals are an easy way to incorporate a wide array of fantastical elements into your little girl's fairy tale world. From her dashing prince or knight in shining armor to her animated attendants to all the extravagant accoutrements of a perfect princess fantasy, a simple brush and paint make magic-making easy.

Furniture for a Princess Themed Bedroom

A little princess always has to be looking her best, so an ample wardrobe and dressing table with mirror are the two essential furniture elements to add to any princess themed bedroom. You could go ahead and furnish each of these pieces separately with no trouble, but another option is to have a wardrobe and dressing table built in to her custom theme bed.
